Pre-Thanksgiving Update

Welcome. Here are our early leaders, coming just after our first category is awarded to Bud, as The OKC Thunder fire P.J. Carlesimo just before The Wiz let Eddie Jordan go. Sorry, Jake.

Category #1: Most wins (wins will actually be listed by winning percentage until the season is finished. This is why Boston, with 13 wins, is listed under The Lakers, with 11)

1. L.A. Lakers (.917) - Chris
2. Boston (.867) - Jake
3. Cleveland (.769) - Bud
4. Orlando (.692) - Nate
t-5. Utah (.643) - Chris
t-5. Houston (.643) - Bud
t-5. Phoenix (.643) - Shawn
t-5. Denver (.643) - Shawn

Category #2: Closest to Playoffs Without Getting In

New Jersey (Shawn) and Dallas (Shawn) are both 1/2 game behind the 8th spot in their respective conference. Milwaukee (Jake) and Toronto (Nate) are a 1/2 game behind New Jersey and Golden State (Jake) is a game behind Dallas.

Category #3: Most Team Ejections (I'm still not sure I'll be able to find an official stat on team ejections, but they do list team technical fouls, so I'll be using that stat until further notice)

1. Boston (31, absolutely running away with it) Jake
t-2. Milwaukee (18) - Jake
t-2. Phoenix (18) - Shawn
4. Memphis (17) - Nate
t-5. Denver (16) - Shawn
t-5. Houston (16) - Bud

Category #4: Worst Record

1.OKC (.071) - Bud
2. Washington (.091) - Jake
3. L.A. Clippers (.154) - Jake
t-4. Minnesota (.250) - Chris
t-4. Charlotte (.250) - Bud

Category #5: Best Scoring Offense

1. L.A. Lakers (105.91) - Chris
2. New York (105.15) - Shawn
3. Golden State (103.53) - Jake
4. Cleveland (101.23) - Bud
5. Phoenix (100.00) - Shawn

Category #6: Best Scoring Defense

1. Boston (89.93) - Jake
2. Houston (90.00) - Bud
3. Charlotte (92.00) - Bud
4. New Orleans (92.16) - Nate
5. L.A. Lakers (92.66) - Chris

Category #7: Best Overtime Record

These 8 teams are all 1-0 in overtime games:
Boston (Jake)
New Jersey (Shawn)
Orlando (Nate)
Denver (Shawn)
Portland (Nate)
Phoenix (Shawn)
San Antonio (Chris)
Dallas (Shawn)

Category #8: First Team to Fire Coach

As stated earlier, Bud is awarded the first category of the year, with the Thunder firing P.J. Carlesimo.

Category #9: Most All-Stars

I don't think they've announced early voting results yet, but I'll be on the lookout (kind of).

If the season ended today, here would be the final standings:

1. Shawn - 3 pts (skewed because of the 4 half points I'm currently getting in the eight-team tie for overtime record)
t-2. - Jake and Chris with 2 1/2 points each
4. Bud - 2 points (but one point is already official)
5. Nate - 1 point (2 half points from overtime teams)

p.s. I found a stat for team ejections, but I found it too late for this first update. I'll have it taken care of next time.
